About This Course

The objective of this course is to make the students aware of various genres in English literature and facilitate the understanding of the different kinds and characteristic features of each genre. The course will enable the learners to identify critical devices of rhetoric and various tropes used in figurative writings and familiarize the learners with the salient features of literary masterpieces of different centuries. The intention is to make students learn literary forms and terms with ease. This course titled "Literary Genres and Terms" is planned in a way that will enable students to understand the concept easily. It has ready-to-use essays for their examination purpose. The examples and the sentences used in this course are familiar examples in plain English and the concepts given are easy to understand.

Lt Dr B. Ajantha Parthasarathi

Lt Dr B. Ajantha Parthasarathi is rendering her service as an Assistant Professor and Research Supervisor of English at Sri SRNM College, Sattur in Tamil Nadu. She has been the Associate NCC Officer since 2017. She has been in this teaching service since 2010. She published 3 books, edited 7 books and contributed chapters to 4 books published by Bloomsbury, New Delhi and 10 chapters in the international and national conference proceedings. She contributed to the FSSAI-funded project for translation. She has acted as a Resource Person to National and International Seminars, Workshops and FDPs on 25 occasions. She published 30 research papers in Scopus, UGC CARE listed and peer-reviewed international journals. She organised an International and 2 National Conferences in collaboration with Sahitya Academy, New Delhi, 2 National Seminars sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi, an International conference sponsored by SZCC, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, an International FDP in association with Universiti Malaya, Malaysia and a National level FDP in association with ELTAI. She presented 25 papers in international and national seminars and conferences in various reputed institutions. She attended nearly 25 international and national workshops and 15 FDPs. She received the “Veera Maaraiyam” award from the Madurai Illakiya Mandram.
